TS-7800 JTAG (Marvell 88F5182 Feroceon Storage SoC)

As shown in the TS-7800 schematic, the JTAG header is part of a 16-pin header that also includes COM1. The pin numbering is as follows:

For the TMS and DOUT pins, there are two variants labelled either "core" or "cpu". For debugging with GDB use the ones labelled "cpu". Pins 11 through 16 are for connecting to COM1 and are not needed for JTAG. The full pin assignment is as follows:

The following openocd configuration should work for OpenOCD (substitute the proper interface path):

CPU Reset

The CPU_RESET# pin on the JTAG header does not properly reset the board. The manufacturer appears to have brought the wrong pin out to the JTAG header. Pulling this pin down appears to stall the board until a proper reset occurs. Thus you will not be able to reset the board using JTAG, and furthermore should probably avoid connecting this pin to your JTAG adapter at all due to its harmful effects.

One method that will cause a proper reset is to ground pin 12 of the AVR microcontroller, but it is not easy to access or connect to the JTAG interface.
